Worky Work ! Busy Bee! Randomness....

So things have gone from a stop, to a chaotic scramble. The good news is that the current house sold, and we already closed on the new place as of a week ago. That was supposed to give us about 3 weeks of working in the new place before we moved in. There was also an additional two weeks before we had to settle on the current place. Nice and relaxing, right? No. It turns out that the overzealous buyers of our current place want to settle the day after we move out.... meaning the few projects that had to be completed, now must be done in the next couple of weeks. F'ers. At least it sold and we made some nice cash on the place. In this market, I think we should be thankful that it sold at all. At the time of this writing, there are a total of 5 houses for sale on my street - 3 on my block alone. Talk about competition. Oh well.... we sold. See ya!

And it's been in the 50's at night - 70's by day - for that past few days here in the city of brotherly love-to-shoot-you. Global Warming? Not here.

Oh yeah... wallpaper sucks. Removing it sucks. And the lazy people out there who decide to paint over wallpaper? F you!

Oldness: The "new" place is really 86 years old - but built like a fort. The only problem so far (other than the overgrown landscaping) is that they NEVER had cable service in the house. Do you know what it's like trying to have a union worker come out to the house to run a new line from the pole to my house? I mean wtf, it's $20 worth of cable and I'm going to be paying you guys cash each month.... run the F'n line! Union rules state that new service can only be setup after 13 union breaks, 27 pieces of paperwork are filled out, and 19 phone calls are made asking why nobody came out to "survey" the area - "Yup... there's no line. you need one. I'll have to submit a work order... that could take a couple of weeks." WTF?!?!?!

Hello, DirecTV? Yeah, about your moving package....
